I've been spending too much time looking only at 750 builds since joining this forum. That is a beautiful bike you are building! It's given me a heap of inspiration for my own builds.

Glad you like it.

My stupid Oil filter is leaking. I used an OEM filter and o ring. I thought that the aftermarket ones were to thin bu i guess this one is too. Im going to look and see if i have a thicker one when i take it apart otherwise i guess i could throw it on the mill and shave it down a hair.

+1  I use them on all my bikes, work great, no leaks and a modern filter.

Just ditch that thing and pop this suck'a on there:

Yeah but im going to put this bike in a few shows hopefully and i dont want a oil filter sticking off the front of the bike. It just doesnt fit with the rest of the look.
Defiantly much more user friendly though.

I'd be concerned that spin on auto filters might collide with the pipes.

You could use a chrome spin-on filter, some bling for shows.  If a stock filter housing clears the pipes, then a spin-on shouldn't be an issue.

I dont know why but mine wont fit like that.  :(
Tried to put the front disc on today but the bolts are hitting the speedo drive! Anybody have this issue before?

AND... the exhaust is hitting the swingarm on the left side. I cant get it to clear. I have emailed the maker to see what he suggests.

AND...my oil pump is leaking so i need to get a new seal for the outside cover.

There is a show the 18 that I a going to put the bike in just for fun.

+1

Also....try sliding the rubber cltuch boot up the cable, and leaving the adjuster slack.  Do the clutch cable stack 1st, then re-adjust the cable last.

Gosh Dang what would i do without you guys! :) :) :) I flipped the bolts around and they clear!!!  8) I messed a little more with the exhaust and i think it will clear now. just have to see if it has exhaust has leaks at the head now.

As for the clutch cable it has a lot of free lenght to it. Its a custom length cable from motion pro. So the handle adjuster and the clutch side are almost maxed out. I may have to send it back and have it shortened up a hair.
For now Im running pod filters and have a set of velocity stacks on the way. (For show only)

That is on my list of things to do. These rotors don't look great but I want to make sure everything fits and works before I have the cleaned up.

Having issues with the brakes. I think its a combination of it being difficult to get the air out of the lines and a cheap chinese master cylinder. Trying get a decent one from ebay for a decent price.

Have you tried "burping" the master?

   If not;
Put the bike on the center stand or Pit stand, remove the reservoir cap, turn the handle bars all the way to the left (your trying to get the master tilted down toward the banjo fitting) this will allow air to bubble up into the reservoir by pumping VERY LIGHTLY on the lever (I've had best results with only slight movements of the lever, (not a full squeeze).  Once you have got all the bubbles out you can with it tilted to the left, then tilt it to the right & repeat. Continue this process left & right till you can no longer get any bubbles;  By then you should start to feel some lever response and can now go to the bleeding the Calipers.

+1 on Godffery's method.  Try tapping very lightly on the banjo(s) as well, as this will also release trapped air.  I've also had success in turning the front end (so the master is the highest point), then taping the brake lever in the full-on position, and leaving it sit over night.

Took the bike to a vintage show today. SOOOOOO LAME. There were some nice bikes in my class. Here are all the bikes in the calss," Trail bikes, trackers and cafes". There is one trail bike hiding behind mine, 7 bikes total.

Here are a few better shoots.

.

Not 1 of the 3 cafe or trackers placed. The 2 trail 70's took first and second! The Rup took 3rd and the Hodaka got a ribbon for some crap. All the trail bikes took home awards and not one for the cafes or tracker. Stupid trail 70s that you can go online and buy every part win over bikes that took actual thoght and hard work to build.
