Jimmy, look at shortening the early Gsxr750 or 1100 swingarms, thats what i have and they are cheap to buy.... ;)

Yes and yes, i have the GSXR1100J {last of the early GSXR's1988} swingarm on my "F" build and it was a straight slip in fit....I had the mono shock section removed and twin shock mounts welded on, the 1100 swinger came out about 45mm {under 2 inches longer on the 750F so it would be only half an inch or so longer than the 550.....The 750 arm could be slightly shorter when cut down....You will have to make up spacers for your wheel but thats not too hard....

FrankenCrzy, i doubt that will slide right in, and will need to be modified. My aluminum welding skilz im sure are worse the yours so where does that leave us? Im going to stick to the slip fit stuff for now.

Its 45mm longer than the 750 arm which would be less noticeable on a 550 because they have a longer arm than the 750....I thgink the GSXR 750 arm is shorter again, that's what's on that 550 race bike....

Sounds like the GSXR swap would be easier from were I sit.  That swap needs a bunch a work still.

Ok, for now im going to stick with a stock swingarm. But now i have all kinds of ideas for my 750F. Chris said check back next friday on the exhaust. Did a little polishing on my second caliper.

He is going to try a 4-4 first but is not sure if he can fit both megaphones under my rearset and not have them to low. So if that doesnt work then he will make it a 4-2.

FWIW, I'm not a shill for Race Tech - I've just got a thing for good suspension and the RTCE's are the most cost-effective mod for these old damping rod front ends.
