Will a 78 750K head go on a 78 750F block (jugs) ??

It'll fit fine but you have to machine trenches at the base of the F block to connect the oil returns. F2 head only returns oil down the outer ones(4), the inner ones are blocked off at the base. The K head( and 75-76 F?) return oil down all 8.
Give me..a frame to build a bike on, and my imagination will build upon that frame

Sean,

I had heard that you could swap one way but not the other, was'nt sure which was which.

Have only worked on K motor and not had a lot to do on them as it is.

Last week we pulled the donor motor down that we are building next years race motor from .
It looks nice and clean inside, as if oil has never got dirty in it, looks good.

You could TIG closed the inner head return holes in the early F head/late K head too.

    I considered that when I did my engine but was concerned about oil pooling around valve stem seals at the blocked returns.
