CB550 carb leaking

I cleaned out my carbs awhile ago put them back on, the bike ran for a few hours.  then i got sidetracked by a few other projects and the bike sat for a few weeks, now when i try to start the bike it dumps gas out of the number 2 overflow tube.  I've taken the carbs apart 2 times and cleaned out the seat and where the needle sits in very well with the same result.  Today I switched the float and needle from the number 3 carb, which was not leaking, and number 2 still leaks the same.  Any ideas?

float height?  Maybe there is a flaw in the #2 needle seat?  Maybe still some crud in there?  Drop your #2 bowl, float & needle then try to blow compressed air through the fuel line.  With the other 3 bowls full of fuel, the air should blow through #2 alone.

Tank clean? Are you running an inline fuel filter?

Is the stand pipe in the float bowl cracked?

the tank is a bit rusted, I am running an inline filter though.  I don't think the stand pipe is cracked, I plugged one end and tried to blow through it.  I'll try blowing some air through the fuel line like old school suggested tomorrow.  Thanks for all the feedback!

When you cleaned out those carbs a while back did you put all the pieces back in the correct carb.  #1 float needle in #1 float seat etc.  You want to keep those together.  Not sure what kind of floats you have there, but I had a brass float leaking.  Check to be sure yours is not sucking in fuel into the float.  Last, install a new float needle and seat if all else is OK.

I am having the same problem with the same carb were you able to get this resolve, and if so how?

It seems that the needles were sticking, the bike sat again while I was gone for a few weeks and it started doing the same thing again, so i gave the needles and seats a good cleaning and it is has stopped leaking.  My tank is a bit rusted on the inside so debris may have gotten lodged inside as well.
