Hello all -
I have not seen a real-live cam chain tensioner in person (I'm new, could you guess?). I'd really like to know how the little rack-and-pinion bits work. I would be satisfied with MS Paint rendition as long as it shown what happens when I loosen the adjuster nut, and why turning the screw 90deg loosens the tension all the way.
I am about three curse words away from tearing into the engine to replace it, but I want more info first.
Does anyone have a diagram/cutaway/rough sketch of how this gizmo works?
Thanks,
RR
