May have to pick up a m/c like that! The wires, in my opinion, its kinda a waste of time to run them internally if youre not going all the way to the center. You can still see them when they exit & it doesnt look much cleaner? But, to each his own my friend. And, if you decide you dont like the clubmans you have to pull them out again. Just my own random thoughts!

How about running them internally up to the sharp bend and putting the exit hole at the bend?

That's what I did on my first build.  Just make sure you clean up the edge of the hole so its doesn't slowly abrade your wires.  I'll look for a pic...

My thoughts exactly.  If I cant run them all the way through to the center of the bars then I might as well just run them on the outside.

You'll have to remove a screw and metal plates before you can pull out those pins on an earlier 750. You can put them back on when you pull the pin out.

Alright, well I got my clubmans in the mail and I'm going through my snake fight with the wiring. I got a few questions, I removed the switch wiring from the coils, and pulled them up between the headlight and triple tree. Now, my question is, do I need to disconnect (Push out) the throttle wiring from the circular disc, or do I need to unscrew the metal connectors below the right switch?

Same goes for the left side, where do I disconnect the clutch cable from the switch in order to make removal of the switch easiest?

I haven't found much for instructions in the Clymers manual, I'm looking through the Honda Shop Manual now, if anybody can help me out on how to remove these the best, or give me page numbers from the books for directions would really help!

I disconnected my throttle cables. Figured it would be easier + you can re route your cables. If your talking about your clutch cable? You can just unbolt the unit from the bars & let it hang.

Cool I did just this. I also came up with an idea for removing the wires through the bars. I basically mounted my handlebars back on, but upside down so I can push, and pull the wires out, while the bar is sittin nice and firm in the bike. Worked great. I took a picture, I'll upload it later.

Here is how I pulled out my wires:

Kept the bar bolted in but upside down, then pulled and pushed easily.

I did a mock up with my clubmans, and i gotta say WOW you ride low on ur bike like that.

I don't know how long I'd be able to ride sittin like that. I think havin straight bars would almost be more to my liking.

Thanks for all your good info.  I mounted the clubman bars the other night and jumped in the saddle.  Well, I think I might be listing the new bars on ebay soon.  The ride position is horrible and I doubt I will be able to ride this thing for a few miles without a stop off at the chiropractor.  I was looking at the old bars(superbike) and it gave me an idea.  I mounted them, flipped and inverted.  They fall within the position where clip ons would be but just a bit higher and less of a pullback.  I have never seen this done and it is a bit unorthodox but it gave me the riding position that I felt pretty comfortable with.  I'll have to get a new set of superbike bars because the original bars have the wiring holes and they show when mounted this way.  I forgot my camera but the next time I'm at my shop I will snap a few shots.

I see never installed "used" clubmans on ebay all the time for like 15 bux. I guess that's why?
I love the look and feel of my clubmans. I kept some risers that I took off, just in case it starts getting achy. Then again, I'm short.

You got the superbike/daytonas to work? Post some pics! When I tried inverting them they wouldn't clear the tops of the triple without either being too far forward or too far back.

Had had inverted Daytonas on my old machine and they were perfect.

Anyways, ended up rotating the clubs a little less aggressively than I see others do and they ended up being pretty comfortable overall but I have monkey arms. Had to drill the stops so as to not hit the tank but that seems to be the way.

Drilled the bars at the ends and just let the wires hang cause I'm too lazy currently to shorten up the wires  :P

What I'd really like to do is hack about an inch out of the U and have someone weld the ends back on so they'd be about the same height as the Daytona's with the pull back of the clubs. Wonder why no one makes something like that. Too freakish?

Hope that helpful.

The superbike bars dont have as much of a rise as the daytona bars.  Check out the comparison pic.

The way I have the superbike bars mounted almost looks like drag bars but they come back a bit further then drags.  I still have to play around with it.  I have a set of drag bars laying around somewhere that I would like to mount up as well.  I'll get some pics up tonight.

I think I might keep these clubmans, hook up everything and just give em a chance. I'm starting to think getting drag bars or superbike bars would have been a better choice though.

Alright.  I stopped by the shop today and snapped some shots of the superbike bars inverted and flipped.  Don't be too critical folks.  This is just an idea.

It looks like it should clear the tank but we'll have to see with the controls mounted.

I think it looks pretty good.

I had an idea on how to run the wires through my clubmans. Basically I would unravel the tape around the rope of wires, then strand them through 2-3 at a time rather then trying to jam all of them at once.

Once I get them all through individually, I will put a long piece of heat shrink tubing over them and push the heat shrink tubing all the way out the other end covering all the wires. Next, I'll heat them up on each end as much as I can to get it nice and tight.

Or maybe, once the tubing is on, tie string over each exposed end, then pull them out one end to heat it up with a heat gun, then pull the string back the other way, and do the other end, then pull the string back to get the wires back into position for mounting.

If anybody else has a bright idea on how to get all the wires through clubmans, lemme know.

Use the method I outlined.    It is the easiest way of doing it.   You are over thinking the #$%* out of it.

The method you just posted is ridiculous.

I gotta agree. Just pull them through if thats what you want to do. If you seperate them, you take the chance of nickin & possibly slicing into the covering, or worse,of the wires. Leave em taped & WD40 them up.

Thick picture frame wire wrapped around drafting tape wrapped around your wiring:  Your best bet for pulling it through a clubman, superbike bars, whatever.

Dig the upside down bars.  Wish I had done that with my motoGP bars.  Too late now, already drilled the mounts and such.

Lol, maybe so. But if my intention was to use heat shrink tubing to update the old tape then it's not that ridunkulous. The less pushing, pulling and forcing I have to do, the better for me.

Wheel bearing grease...Hmmm, that #$%*s pretty toxic. I'm curious about the picture frame wire and drafting tape thing though.

Might anybody be able to tell me what that green and green/red wire is running from the left hand control switch into the headlight bucket? Is that maybe the wire controlling the turn signal buzzer? If so, I'm really thinking of disconnecting it, and the buzzer.

You still have the turn signal buzzer?  I have never actually seen one.  Does anyone besides Vic World ever use them?  Far out, man.

Sorry, tangent.  Yeah, drafting tape.  Less sticky than masking tape.

Instead of WD-40 or bearing grease I would suggest using electricians pulling lube.  It's very slick and much much cleaner than a petroleum based product.  You can get it at any major home improvement store.

The green and green/red wires should be for the clutch switch.  It's missing on my bike.  I don't see a turn signal buzzer on the wiring diagram.  I don't think the 400Fs had them.
