silly turn signal question?
« on: May 27, 2009, 09:25:07 PM »
This is my first Honda so my question is...on my CB750F1 the turn signals are always on.  They do blink and beep when I operate the turn signal switch.  Is this normal?  On my XS650 the turn signals only light when the turn signal switch is activated right or left so this seems odd to me.

Yep, normal...they are wired as a running light and come on with the headlight when you turn on the ign...If you don't want them on all the time you can open the h/l shell and disconnect the blue/white ( right ) and orange/white (left) wires that come from the turn signals/blinkers/winkers/indicators........!
If your sure it's a carb problem; it's ignition,

I noticed that my fronts are always on, but the rear ones are on only while blinking. I noticed the same with yours this weekend Spanner. Is that normal?

Hey There cb750,

Yes, it is normal.  The front sets are meant to be running lights and turn signals.  The rear sets are not meant to be running lights, turn signals only.  In the vast majority of states in this country it's illegal to have running lights in the rear........ the powers that be believe it is too confusing for other drivers....... too many of them are too confused anyway..... ;)

You can have running lights in the rear, they just have to be red, not white or amber.
