Weird Blinker Question
« on: May 28, 2009, 06:24:27 AM »
CB750K1 - Not a big deal, but just wondering why the right side would blink noticeably faster than the left side?  All blinker housings, connections, sockets, bulbs and contacts were cleaned last month.  New battery too.  At least they both blink, just weird why the difference in blinking speed from the left to the right.

Are the bulbs the same?  Even thought the connecters were just cleaned, there may be a bit of resistance somewhere causing the difference.
Can I have a motorcycle when I get old enough?
If you take care of it.
What do you have to do?
Lot’s of things. You’ve been watching me.
Will you show me all of them?
Sure.
Is it hard?
Not if you have the right attitudes. It’s having the right attitudes that’s hard.

When you say the contacts were cleaned, do you mean the switch?  A lot of resistance can be created by a corroded switch contact.

Yes, I cleaned the switch and used some dielectric grease on it.  I will check the bulbs to be sure they are the same.  Good ideas...

the reason why it blinks faster is because it has a higher wattage bulb on that side. More load on the flasher unit makes the breaker break the circuit quicker. Put the correct bulb in and both will flash the same

You guys were correct.  I checked all the bulbs and 3 were #1073 and 1 was #1141.  Changed it out and now they all blink the same.  Thanks
