CB750F1 vs CB750K differences?
« on: May 28, 2009, 10:25:42 AM »
Well i can't seem to find a CB750K in my area that someone is willing to let go for a reasonable price. There is however a 76 CB750 Super Sport (VIN CB750F-2018644). I was planning on making it into a cafe racer (new tank, seat, bars, sets, and exhaust basically) Does anyone know of any potentials issues i may run into with a F that I wouldn't with a K? I have read that the F has a slightly different frame and longer wheelbase possibly? Any truth to that? Thanks!

Hi Sidd, the F frame is different to the K frame as  the F has a rear disc brake as well as a different rear mudguard / fender set up, probably are some smaller differences can't just think of them , don't think you would go far wrong if you got a F to cafe  ;), cheers Mick.

i think the F is got some chain oiler thingy-ma-gingy too, along with some other stuff. I think there is something on this sohc4.net site that list the difference.

F wheel base is 57.9, trail length 4.5. fork angle 28  499lbs
K wheel base is 57.3, trail length 3.7  fork angle 27  479lbs
The F engine has a higher compression and is a bit more powerful.  The rear disc is a plus.  Many parts are the same as the K but you will find there are some things that are specific to the 75/76 F and being a two year run can be harder to come by but not impossible.  Let us know how it goes there would be interest here n the leftover parts.

Only potential downside I know of is the rear swing arm bushings are not as good. Everything else is better and faster  ;D

No chain oiler thingy on the F.

Let us know what parts you want to get rid of.
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)
