« on: May 29, 2009, 07:39:38 PM »
hi my real name is Yonick,
i am 22 years old and live in mcallen, tx
i own a Acura integra gsr and have owned about 15 other hondas. and am looking to learn something new.
so i just bought my first bike its a 1974 cb550. i don't really know what im doing since im mainly a car guy however i have always wanted to own a bike. so i just added another honda to the family:) (Honda enthusiast)

when i got it the motor was stuck it had been sitting for about 5 years i was told, and searching/reading some threads on this forum i learned to put some lubricant inside the cylinders. shouldn't bee too long before this bike sees the road(i hope.)  ;D

sorry for the long intro. thanks

Long intro? Nope, not at all. Thanks for the good intro and welcome to the forum. Give kghhost a ring. If he told me to give him a ring, I'd do that. ;-)

Good luck. I know you'll enjoy working on your 550.

hey did u get the motor unstuck?  I would put some marvals mystery oil in the motor and run it.  it will kill all the gunk and rust if their is any in the motor and then drain it and ad some good 10w40 oil in the bike.   and welcome man im learning to and this forum has helped me out alot.

Good to hear you got the motor un stuck.  - got mine unstuck but took the head of just to make sure the cylinder walls where still got.  Just waiting now on a new top end gasket set and maybe a 650 cam.   Post pics man and hope it works out for you.
