Honda CX500 gas cap key lock

Trying to find a new key lock/gas cap cover piece for my CX500. Rattles a bit because it won't lock. Anyone know where I can find one? Seems to me that since its discontinuation, they're pretty tough to come by.

I recommend asking that in Cycle World Forums' Tech section.
Honda919rider has a CX500 and is also a mechanic.  He may have a lead, or even a fix.

this is the best site i've found for info on cx500/650 gl500/650 and turbo versions

its not a 'real' lock so you could take it apart and fit a new spring.
