I've got the Por Strip in the tank right now. Awful smelling stuff, but according to Por15 "nontoxic"... OK. Need to get a proper seal for the next few steps as some por strip oozed out of the plug in the filler hole, hopefully not under my duct tape and onto my paint.

Here's the "before":

OK I officially HATE this bike now. There is a big sheet of rust, or old kreme or something that I can hear sliding around in there. I rinsed the tank for 20 minutes straight with a power washer...how the #$%* can I get this #$%* out? Do I have to have someone cut a hole in the bottom of the tank and weld it back into place?

Got it out. In cases like this it definitely pays to have a Russian roommate with super long fingers!

Look what was inside my tank:

  • I miss my baby...
What is it?!  I kinda want to eat.  Looks like a thin, smoked fillet of some sort of meat, covered in a nice pepper and herb rub.  That's not the case though... is it :(
