Spanner1, paint is a nonsense fashion item.. strip it off and just clear or plate everything to protect it...

Just curious..... If you were able to run a deep pan, oil cooler, larger spin on automotive type filter, and do away with the oil tank?  ???

I'm not really wanting to try this, but thought I would ask.
I seen a bike that the Wrench monkee guy's built and they don't have a deep pan or an oil tank.
Must be for show only and no riding....

I just noticed the copper looking oil lines going up under the seat.....

But on this one...... I don't see anything....?

The engine is a dry sump type incorporating a separate oil tank which is mounted on the
right side of the frame. The oil in the tank is delivered under pressure by the oil pump
to lubricate the engine components. The oil accumulated in the crankcase sump is returned
to the oil tank by the scavenge pump, however, part of the oil is deverted to lubricate
transmission components.

Here are some more useful information, it basically says that you need the oiltank because the engine is fed directly from the oiltank. The sump is the return and are constantly dry, pushing the oil back to the tank? So a larger sump will increase oilcapacity and quality in the long run but you can not run whitout some kind off oiltank, because the engine is not fed from the sump? This is how I read it ? Am I right???

Yes, you need an external oil tank on the CB750.  There is no limit to the shape or placement of the oil tank though.  The first picture of the Wrenchmonkees bike has the oil tank in the tail of the seat.  The second picture has an oiltank that is probably compartmentalized in the gas tank.  The lines are probably run along frame tubes to hide them.

This air cleaner is only 3 inches across.......http://www.knfilters.com/search/product.aspx?Prod=RU-2580
The one in the picture on the air box is way larger.  The air cleaner on mine is 6 inches across.  ;)
