Topic: Electrical help needed- Quick Question

Hello, I seem to have lost power n my cb400f. I want to track down which wires have power and which wires are not live. I thought there was a tool that i could just touch to the outside of the wire and it would indicate that there was power. Is this correct? Also what is it called?? Sorry I'm dumb with electronics
