Hello Everyone.

My real name is Bill.

I grew up downriver and been living in the Detroit area my whole life. I've recently gotten married and will be moving across the river to Canada to live with my wife and her daughter. I had been thinking about getting a motorcycle for a couple years but didn't really have the money for it so never bothered to get my license. Since Canada has graduated licenses and the riding courses cost about six times as much there I decided I need to get it done before moving. I finished the course two weeks ago.

I sold a bunch of war gaming stuff that I haven't used in ten years on eBay so I don't have to move it yet again and used the money to buy a 73 CB500 that has been sitting in my friend's garage for a few years. Gotta love turning old hobbies into new hobbies. It has a few dents in the tank and the left rear turn signal doesn't work. The carbs need a good cleaning but it's otherwise in good shape.

Reading the builds here and on Carpy's site made me want to try my hand at rebuilding a bike but I didn't want to have to wait to ride. I found a 75 Cb750 on craigslist for a decent price. It doesn't run but the motor turns. The motor is from a 72. I also found a cheap 76 CB750 with a stuck engine that I'll be using for parts. I'll be moving out of my house by the end of the month and staying at my dad's place until the immigration paperwork clears. Once things get settled enough that I have time to work on it I'll be posting a build thread.

Here's what it looked like when I got it home.

There are several more pics on my photobucket site.

Since I bought my bikes the wife has been bitten by the motorcycle bug too. She bought a 86 VT700 that is currently in my name.

I went from owning zero motorcycles to owning four in a month and half. Though she'll be importing hers in a couple weeks so she can get it plated and ride.

Welcome  8)

wow went from none to 3 all at once. You are in the right place if you want to go it yourself.

Best place in the world for the CB750 or any other SOHC4.
