Part identifictation
« on: May 31, 2009, 05:15:39 PM »
Hey all,

I was helping clean out the attic and found another buried (potential) treasure of my fathers. It looks to be a set of NOS CB750 shocks but I have no idea on the specific details. The only markings on them are U132S engraved on the bodies of each, nothing else. They measure 13.5" long. Anyone have any idea on the specifics. Chances are I will sell them to fund my rebuild but I would like to know more about them. Who knows I may even use them on my rebuild.

This is a complete exhaust system that I also found awhile back. I think I posted pictures on here before. They are 4-2 turnout styles. They really look like MAC's but the design of them doesn't match up to any style of MAC's I've ever seen. I even emailed MAC with the serial number and they said they didn't make them. The only information I know about them is that he got them at Dennis Kirk in the late 70's early 80's.

I will post more pictures and any other information I might know if you guys need it. Any help is appreciated but this is not an emergency. Thanks for all your help!

I saw another bike with exhaust like that that I thought would be killer to have.
No matter how fast or how far I rode, I couldn't leave her memory behind.

I'd be real interested in the shocks for my restore if they turn out to be new Honda brand shocks. I have a used pair that are supposed to be originals. I'll dig them out and take a look.

The shocks are aftermarket not original as all the original arroound then had shrouds over the springs and had "Showa" stickers

Unless they're for the "F" model...They didn't come with the shroud.

They look identical to my OEM shocks on the bike except missing the shroud. Although I never thought to look for model numbers on the shocks currently on the bike. I'll have to do that tonight. Maybe a decent set of reproductions or aftermarket shocks? Although the lack of a brand logo on them is making me kind of nervous.

Well I emailed Jardine and they confirmed that it is indeed one of theirs. They seem like very nice people. As I already have a Kerker exhaust going on the bike I really don't have a need for this exhaust. Any idea what I might be able to get for it? It was never installed on a bike. Also any ideas on the shocks? Maybe some JC Whitney wonder shocks?

Well I thought about it for a few days and I think I'm going to sell the exhaust. It sure does look pretty and all but its just not for me. I will probably list it on here for a few days so some of you enthusiasts can have at it, then its going on eBay. I still have no idea on the shocks but I'm still looking. In the meantime I did run accross these puppies.

From what I understand these are modified for the CB750 from Volkswagen coils. I have only been able to find one or two google hits on these things but they look cool even though it looks like they were abused in the past. Every few days I find some cool CB parts!

Ah them coils, I remember when they sold them, A buddy of mine ran a set of them I think.

I think they worked well, but are a bit harder to mount than  say andrews or Accell, as they dont really fit to the stock mounts.

If you find any RC cams, I claim first dibs.. ;D

 Nice treasure hunt..

I can tell they didn't mount to well as the one is damaged. I believe they are repairable but at this point I don't know if they are junk or not. This has been a nice treasure hunt hasn't it!? I also found an alloy rear sprocket that weighs about 1/4 of a standard year sprocket, it looks cool but makes me a little nervous about anyone ever running one.

Ally rear are pretty tough. If you lube and take care of your chain you probably could not wear it out in 2 seasons.

If sprocket were identical it would weigh approx 1/3 of the steel one, its a good mod.. 750 wheels are heavy enough..way too heavy.

It's actually a little smaller than the stock sprocket. It has a 37 or 38 engraved on it (I have to look when I get home to confirm this) so I would assume it only has 37 or 38 teeth on it.
