cam sprocket!

i am assembling my motor again and have gotten to the head and installation of the cam and sprocket.shop manual says to set your timing mark on the 1-4 t mark and have the notch on the cam be in the middle.mine is just a tiny bit off is it posible to be one tooth out on the sprocket and should i remove and redo or can you get away with being one tooth out?

One tooth out is too much, it may not be exact but needs to be less than a tooth
Semi Geriatric ex-Honda mechanic and MOT tester (UK version of annual inspection). Garage full of "projects" mostly 500/4 from pre 73 (no road tax in UK).

Remember "Its always in the last place you look" COURSE IT IS YOU STOP LOOKIN THEN!

i did mine recently ( top end rebuild )

put on t mark 1-4 ( exactly ) the flat of the cylinder head should be in the middle of the notch on the cam , a pain but get it right while your there , also read up on cam cover replacement,

a certain bryan j advised me as well  :D
