Had a nice weather window, and managed to clock up some more miles. Some folks I met this weekend at the local Honda dealership described the exhaust note on my bike as an angry swarm of hornets. I have to agree, I love that sound. About another 250 miles or so and then the first oil change and some full throttle shake down.

You are correct Vic built this one for me. I told him from the start it was going to be a rider and not a museum piece. Talked to him today and he really enjoys hearing about the bike. He has a wealth of knowledge and I think if my carbs were any more in sync, the bike would go into orbit. He has provided a lot of tips for me in both breaking it in and maintance. He really loves theses bikes it's not all about the $$ as some may think. If you want to make some money, just order a new sandcast from Vic, then just part it out. You will make way more than the price of the bike. It takes months of time to get everything right on one of his bikes, he is a stickler for detail by SN#. Mine took six months to build.
I know I could have bought 3 new bikes for what I paid for this one, but I wouldn't be grinning as much while I was riding.

I believe the part about being a stickler for detail. I recently read a small article on him in the back of Motorcyclist Retro (I think), where he was quoted how he gets the finish of the aluminum parts so nice. I was surprised at the effort that went into that alone. Case in point: look at the reflection(!) of the rocker cover on the top cylinder fin in the first pic.

Deacon...I do see a flaw in that bike. Not sure if you or the guys noticed it, but that bike should be in MY garage...

Very nice and congrats on such a fine bike. Just beautiful to look at and even better to ride. I agree, it is so nice to hear you like to ride it and are not keeping it to yourself. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for all the kudos. I had to sell a lot of neat stuff to get her. I hope to post some neat movie clips with exhaust noise @ 8.5K RPM. I may even take her to the local dragstrip just for fun in the spring. I had many many drag runs on my 1971 CB750. I never did take my 1969 Sandcast to the drags back in the day. But my 71 CB750 was incredibly consistent.
I will post more pics if it ever stops raining.

Insurance for now is only liability. I have to get the agent to the house and take pictures and then insure it at an "agreed price". Hope it not going to cost an arm and a leg.

I met Decaon and was able to look over his street Museum piece last weekend at the Honda Dealer in Asheboro NC. I think he now has about 750 miles.

Beautiful job on the restoration. The bike looks like new.

Driving the truck that day to deliver some patio furniture to my daughter.

I would have loved to park my K6 next to it to compare!
