CB 550 Wiring/Cable routing
« on: June 03, 2009, 05:27:14 PM »
Hi all,

I've done a search and checked the FAQ, but I wasn't able to find what I was after...

I'm in the process of re-building my 550F, and am on the straightforward step of re-connecting the wiring harness to all the switches/lights/engine/etc.  After trying to use the 500 wiring diagram, and being incredibly confused at some of the connection types and lack of dash lights etc., I looked around again and found a  550 wiring diagram.  This has made much of the task easier ::).

However, I'm wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of either diagrams or pictures which show the routing of the cables in the front end/headstock of the bike.  I've swapped the 'antler' cruiser type bars that were on it for those from a 400F, and I think because the wires had to be longer than stock for the ram horns, and the 400F bars are like drag bars, there is a lot of extra length in the wires and cables.  Before I start considering shortening parts of the wiring looms, I'd like to make sure that I have enough for everything to work properly.

Thanks,
  -- Pirate.
