try all the usual in the faq + www.westernhillshonda.net just dont get excited if the web site says they got them with a price, call them as the web is not accurate!!

I believe the 77/78 K rings are the same but with a different part #. I ran into this problem years ago but somebody on the board from Canada got the # for me.

I plan to do a rebuild on my F3 motor eventually and am interested if you find a source.  Please post your success!  I'm rooting for you  ;D

If MRieck is right go buy a set of k's, check the measurements, and report back here. Pretty please. ;)

they guy i got the basket from said the K rings dont work.  they are a little wider than the grooves on the f2 pistons.

ive had the westernhills honda place recommended before, ill check em out.  i was told also that honda no longer makes the F2 rings, so finding them might be a pain.  i know my honda shop said they couldnt get em.

i could just say screw it and go for a 836 kit, but id rather keep my 700 bucks

One caution before you spend too much time and $ . . .How are your valve guides?  The Black F motors are prone to premature guide wear.   If you haven't already, check them carefully; it can be an expensive repair.  Also in case you were unaware, the standard 836 kit does not provide enough compression when combined with a F2/F3 head.  You would need a kit specific to the F2/F3 which are more expensive and harder to find.  Have fun!

Its all out there. And its not hard to find. Its all at this page.
http://www.dynoman.net/bikepages/F2/index.html
if you call the guy he will give you a lesson on the F2. More then you ever needed to know.
even cheaper to replace valves and guides.
http://www.cyclexchange.net/Engine%20Parts%20Page.htm
yeah its expensive at $300 but that cant be much more to replace a K's valves and guides.
Yes the F guides are prone to failure but you can fix it and youll have a better bike, because its an  F! not a K. :D

im aware of the valve guide problem on the F2s.  already measured mine and all that.  all of my exhaust guides are out of spec, already have the guides and will be doing those next.

neither westerhills or dynoman had the rings.  they have them here http://www.davidsilverspares.co.uk/parts/part_7205/  , probably gonna get em there.  thanks to trevor for the heads up
