stuck kickstart
« on: June 04, 2009, 07:28:33 PM »
Ok so i got this bike and had wirinng issues so i was tryign to kickstart it and i was slowly pushing the bike over and it came to stop so and couldnt push it anymore. I was afraid it was vacumm locked so i backed the motor up at the points and it was fun and took the plugs out... well i fixed the wiring and got it started and rode it around. Well the kick start is still locked and  i looked over the manual and and is seems the only way to get to the meat of  the kicker is to break the case open.

My question....

Has anyone else had this problem and does anyone have a solution that does not involve breaking the case apart?

If anyone needs a reference i uploaded that section of the manual:

Sounds like something inside the case has slipped or gone past it's correct travel limit.
Is the kicker jammed "down" towards the ground or jammed "UP" towards the tank?
I think you are about to experience the ultimate pleasures of cracking your engine side case open.
Best you fix it before something else jams inside the case, I've always been able to reuse the old side case gaskets or used some liquid gasket maker on them so don't sweat finding another gasket.
Just drain your sump oil and remove a gazillion screws to remove the side case...have fun. :)
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!
