This bike actually ran when I bought it for $620. You can see the complete dissassembly down to atoms. Sad fact: only a handful of the parts from this bike are actually being used in my final build. So far, the swingarm, rear hub, oil pan, kick starter lever, and battery box are from the '71 CB750 you see in the pics.

'71 CB750 K. Completely dissassembled between Spring and Fall 2007. First thing to go was the frame - after getting a good look at it once the tank etc. was taken off, I noticed it had a nasty bend near the stearing stem. Below you can see my substitute frame. Purchased from e-bay, modded by Vince Brewer of Deathtrap Kustoms Fresno (good guy), and nicely powdered...

Thanks. It's been a slow processes that's for sure. Over two years now. It's been tough to work on her - I lost my garage space before I really got started. I've been working on the patio at my girlfriend's apartment. The weather here gets up to 115 F in the summer (Fresno, CA) and is pretty damn cold in the winter. I've spent a good amount of time just buying parts on ebay, salvage yards, Honda, and good folks like you.

Looking forward to putting those trick engine mounts on soon!

Yeah, you said it. I've finally gotten around to putting some serious work into the project. I've got a hammered tank from ebay and an Airtech fiberglass seat cowl. These may be temporary though. I've got some cool ideas for a tank - phase two after it's a runner.

Mangled shock post threads. How you ask? Used Harbor Freight threading die to chase post threads. This is not the stock post bolts, by the way. When Death Trap Kustoms welded up my frame they fixed some rust damage on the bottom rails, sliced off the passenger peg mounts, tacked on rearset mounts, and gave me a new, stronger shock post mounting - I'm a big boy. There was a tiny speck of welding slag on the post. When I went to clean the threads up, I didn't check closely enough to see if I had the right pitch. Stupid, stupid, stupid. Luckily, the hew post was 3/8", a bit over the stock 10mm. I bought a Matco tap n die set off of eBay, dremeled a bit of the mess off, and re-threaded with a 10mm die. Whew! Close one!

Fall 2008 - Mocking up the frame with tank, seat, rear fender.

Tank from eBay, seat cowl from Airtech

Fiberglass rear fender from Carpy. You can see the cool little horseshoe-shaped loop thing I had Deathtrap Kustoms fab for me to give the bike a bit more Brit appeal.

Hi mrosso,
I do not see any Honda washers on the upper triple tree between the fork tube clamp.
I hope you will use them before you drive your bike.
Your upper triple tree could crack if you tighten up the bolts too much.

Hey there, Soichiro-san,
Did you have any problems fitting the seat on your bike? I'm having a #$%* of a time. The seat is a good 1/2 to 1" too narrow to fit correctly with the stock seat latch and hinges. Check this out...
