Whatever the market will bear.

eBay is the best way to find out.

Word the ad properly and you'll have hundreds of CB750 anoraks salivating over it and you'll get top dollar.

Steve can you give me any idea? I want to help the guy out but they are pricey and I need to be sure I get my money back. Or I may just keep them.

If he's selling them to you, offer him $50 and pray he doesn't know what he has. If you are helping him sell them, ask a couple or three grand and hope the buyer wants them real bad.

They are worth exactly what someone will pay for them.

My rule of thumb is new OEM parts are 50% highest retail. Easy to look up, use BikeBandit.com. They are not cheap. Often even the discontinued parts have the MSRP on them.

If you're buying them for resale, you'll need to pay 25% of retail or less.

Then check ebay for going prices too. As has been said, they're worth what someone will pay.

Just some thoughts.

Agree, whatever the market will hold.  I would be willing to buy those items for my gold K1 except I already have HM300's.  However, I have to take into account my painter will charge me about $700 - $800 to repaint them in the Honda candy gold.  I would be willing to pay more since they are new, but sometime "new" is also a bit scratched or dented and one might be better off with a new paint job.  Did you get to see them yet?  If you buy them and want a quick turnaround let me know and we can discuss.  I am taking mine in for paint in about a week.

Well the point of the post was to see if it would be worth buying them and then re-selling them since he has a bike I want too. So far I don't have a sense of what they're worth from the replies I've received. If you are paying 700-800 to get yours repainted, that doesn't include a new tank, covers and other parts. I would have to guess something close to 2000 excluding the HM300 pipes based on that info. BTW, the guy said new in un-opened boxes which would suggest they're not scratched or dented. These are not new after market parts. They are originals. Anyway there's a guy on ebay who repaints these parts in Honda colors including decals and repair and prime for around 500.00. You might check into that before spending 700-800.

Agreed...good point too.  I have seen that guy on eBay offering the paint job for $500.  Thanks but no thanks.  When you find an experienced guy 5 miles from your home that has painted candy for years, you just do not want to try someone else.  There is no reason to try someone else.  He did an awesome job on my KO and I would rather pay someone for excellent candy and save the shipping.  But you make a good point and I appreciate it.  Would you be planning to offer this stuff to the guys on the forum here before placing it on eBay?

1. Brand new in box gold with black stripe gas tank

$700 - Yamiya sells them for this...

2. New in box gold side covers

Going by Ebay rates around $200 (oil tank if you are lucky) -$400 (battery cover)

3. New in box gold headlight bucket

Ebay again - $300-400

4. New gold headlight ears

? dont know?

5. New in box original HM300 exhaust with all the trimmings.

Well if DSS sells them for 120 pounds/pipe  -looking at $1100 for a new set (plus shipping).

cheers
Andy

Jonnie, you have a beautiful paint job. No question about it and from the looks of your bike list, you must be a happy camper. And Andy thanks for your help too. That really puts it in perspective. I now realize how small and insignificant I really am!  :-\

So yes, I would definitely offer them here before ebay. You guys are always the greatest when it comes to these matters.

So the guy wanted 2500 for these parts which I now realize is too much. Actually it's more than he's asking for his smokin K1. But I now have facts to take back to him.

No, 754, but it certainly would not be averse to my usual negotiating aims. I got my K0 750 as a basket case titled frame with six large plastic bins of NOS and lightly used parts (enough to assemble a whole bike) for $450. That guy also started asking an eminently reasonable price.

You going to buy that smokin' K1?  How much would he sell the gold parts for without the HM300's?  Any idea if that tank comes with the gas cap, HONDA logo and lower tank trim?

I would suspect you have $2500+ provided you find the right buyer and set minimum prices on EBay

Yes I'm gonna get the smokn K1 and yes the gold tank and side covers come with the correct year emblems. I don't know if they are installed or not but they probably are. The only reason I even bring any of this up is to see (1) if anyone here wants them at that price and then I would get them and (2) make the deal for the smokn K1 more palatable for the seller. I like the K1 as is and don't need the gold parts. I'm supposed to get pictures of all this gold stuff tomorrow so if I do, I'll include them here.

Jerry, I didn't understand your post:
"I would suspect you have $2500+ provided you find the right buyer and set minimum prices on EBay"

What does that mean?

I hadn't read the price he was asking before I replied so I was on the spot.

~ $1000 for pipes, $750 for tank, $500+ for side covers sold as a set, etc. I'm with Andy on pricing.

Now as far as EBay goes I would set a Reserve Price which would be your minimum you would accept and then hope it will bid up. If they don't sell then just list them again at the same price. You could list them as a set at first and if they don't go then split them up. You're in the drivers seat with this stuff! Sweet find but I think he knows what he has.
