Dude if your gonna move there you have to stop by my house on the way, or atleast take me with you  :-\

I had a buddy here that lived there for quite some time( he was an older cat 60's at least), like a decade at least. I told him I was gonna live there one day and he replyed with astrange comment. He said that up there the people kinda leave you as an outsider if your not born there, guess they don't like imports from other states...

One time, 4 of us were riding back from Sturgis..

We ended up in 2 groups of 2, I ended up with Richard the Proffesor, an Art and Sculpture  instuctor at our local college-of-knowledge.

It got fairly crappy out for mid-Aug, rained a lot of the day, got into Livingston around dark and it was like 58  degrees, so we grabbed a room.

After a while we hit the bar downtown , and found the other 2 guys, they had been in there a while..

And they said, guess what happened, so we were like WTF.. ???

Well they said there was a dude sitting at the bar, and they were off the side at a table. I presume he glanced at them a few times maybe.. anyway after some time he left.

And the bartender came over with a round, and they asked him why?
He said, the guy sitting at the bar bought you a round. They said, well we dont think we know him.. ???
and the bartender said, Oh, maybe you do, his mame is Peter Fonda, and he would like you to have a drink on him!

Man, I always thought that was so cool..

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I have had many pretty good experiences in my many crossings of Montana, people are pretty good there..

Maybe that guy was telling you about the newbie treatment, ya know a lot of places they want to see the stuff you are made of, before the decide to warm up to you.. things are a bit different in Montana...

see, it looks like maybe michigan is going to be a good bit more expensive to live in that i originally thught. montansa on the other hand is 9% lower cost of living there. i dont need a big, fancy house, maybe 900-1000 sq feet, as long as it's solid with good roof, wiring and plumbing i'm happy. i dont figure anyone will rent to a guy with 6 cats  :D

here it means having to get a kennel license would you believe?  i origianally wanted to get a little land, enough space for a couple of horses, i've decided that boarding em is better. maybe a 1/4 or 1/2 acre lot max. oh and i have to have at least a 2 car garage.

You may want to check out Columbus.. about 25 miles west of Billings.. they have a 2 headed calf mounted on a plaque on the wall.. and a really freaking cool magneto powered cigar lighter.. worth checking out.. IMO

 ..
and in Reedpoint a bit NW of there, they have Batchelor Days in Sept... and all the willing horny women from all around, gather up and attend the Auction, where they can bag themselves a man for a few days.  They also still have ****** Night at the bar on Wednesdays, back in the slave days, the help had Wednesday nights off to go to town, to let off a little steam..

Ahh, the good old wild west... ;D

We lost the no speed limit because so many dorks, both in-state and out-of-state thought it meant pedal to the metal 100% of the time.  It was not uncommon to be doing eighty or so and have some nitwit come up on you going thirty or forty mph faster and pass on a blind curve or over a hilltop.  Knotheads.

The open container law - long overdue.  We still have drunks killing themselves and others.

Now, about them there North Dakotans - oh, well.  We won't start with the ND jokes. ;D  Especially since my son lives east of the border.

See all in good fun!
I was actually surprised that the speed limit stayed as high as it did for so long.
As for ND, my own joke is that we live here because our brains get deep freezed for so long that they take all summer to thaw and by the time we realize how stupid we are, we get frozen again! ;D

Y'all know that Newell, SD is actually the nation's sheep capital, right?

I have relatives there.  First time I saw that sign outside of town I wet myself.

BK - Montana and southern Sask. are similar culturally. I can tell you that a kilted Sicilian walking several leashed cats in public will raise eyebrows. (understatement ;))
