Found one near me in white for 3300. Can anyone give me any opions on this bike. I really like the bike but the cost of maint. scares me a little . Is this a good deal and worth while . It has 14,000 miles

Guzis are pretty awesome, in my opinion. I like weird bikes, though.
Think of them as the Italian BMW.
No.

Sounds like a pretty cheap price. Maintenance is generally straight forward, simple, and not any more expensive than a newish Honda. The Bassa had a few extra bells & whistles as compared to the base model Jackel. I especially like the tubeless spoke rims & the big discs up front. lots of power, good handling, and good brakes. This is an injected motor, and there are some tuning issues that often need attention initially that require access to a good dealer (Fast By Ferracci in PA). But from what I've heard when they are set up correctly they are really sweet. Don't lug the motor - they like to rev (for a twin). And don't expect to use 5th gear unless you plan on running 75+ MPH. They will do it all day, two up, pulling a trailer.

Check out WildGuzzi.com for access to subject matter experts. Good parts support from MGCycles.com. My newest Guzzi is a '76.

im suppose to go look at it tomorrow at 1230. I really wanted to keep it under 2500 and was looking at some other bikes but this bike seems to be different and pretty sweet.

It hurt.

The bike is cool.

Bobber -

I have several Guzzi's including a '02 California and a '74 Eldorado.  They are very sweet riding bikes with lots of grunt.  As a plus, the Bassa's frame is the same Tonti frame found on Guzzi's since the '72 introduction of the V7 Sport.  It will handle itself VERY respectfully in the twisties.  The Bassa is esentially the same set-up as my '02 Cali.  The brakes are fantastic.  The sound makes you want to sing opera while riding!
Enjoy!

yeah I hope he isnt hiding anything from me. He said he keeps it in a garage at his office so I am going to hear it run and take a look at it. I like having the fleibility to sell a bike and need be and if I can get this for 3000 I dont think I would have a problem moving it down the road if need be..

Make sure you can test ride it around the block.  The good thing I have found about Guzzi's is if there is anything wrong, it won't start!

Let us know how it goes.

it was drizzling a little bit so I couldnt take it for a spin it is in good condition light scratches on back fender some on must have had a touring bag  or something and light on scratch on front fender as well. I am sure someone could fix it up. Never like white paint but the pearl in it really was nice ....I might see if he will drop down to 3,000. it has under 14000 miles on it. He owned it for two years and has local mechanic do all the work. It starts right up. He said I could ride it if I wanted. I hate riding a bike untill I own it.
