depends on where you are headed with this project though.  Drag bars look good on pretty much anything.  Tall Z bars take a specific look to pull off.  Very 70's retro though

well im building a bobber style bike and am thinking about building them both and see what turns out better. maybe switch it up every once and awhile or something.

switching handlebars sucks plus you may need longer cables and wires for the Z bars... Its really up to you though either way good job  ;)

Well got the parts bike.  Its kinda cool how I got it too.  I called the guy when I got up this mroning around 8:30 and he said he still had it but someone was on their way to get it.  Forst come forst serve call me when u get off and see if I still got it.  Well I rushed called my girlfriend she couldn't go called her brother he was working. And called her dad but he had a doctors apointment to go to.  I was screwed.  Ended up calling the guy and he sold It.  Long story short I get home bumbed about not getting it go into the garage and their it was a parts bike with a bow that said happy 2 year anniversary love ur future wife.   Man am I stoked

I finally got a parts bike.  Been looking for one for months.  Its a 1974 cb550 complete just in a few pieces.  And I got a 75 so I'm stoked I will post pics after I fix my digital camera.

OK well been working on stripping the parts bike and decided I would use the frame off the parts bike since it has a vin and license plate so registering it won't be hard.   Well on the the pics.

I like the look of the 74 tank better Im going to use it.

Almost everything was their. except for the front brake and some small stuff but its a clean parts bike.

But yea im stoked.  I guess the girlfriend and her dad talked to the guy for a bit and he restores old bike.   He has a few old triumphs and is restoring a norton right now.   Well back to work.

I'm gonna get tittle for the parts bike since it has a license plate already on it. But only thing is looks like it hasn't been registerd since 81 so its probly not in the system.  The guy that we got the parts bike threw said to just go to dmv see if its on record and file for loss of tittle.  He says he does it all the time when he gets a parts bike with no tittle.

Well its 2am can't sleep so I thought I would go into the garage and workon the bike. .  Well I got the new parts bike into a roller and mocked up the tank with the mock up bars I made.  #$%* looks clean and is like I want it.  So now I'm sitting on the couch in the back yard looking at the bike and making a parts list and check off list for the bike. I figure a good check off list will keep me motivated like it always has for past projects.  Went through a lot of stuff I got off the parts bike and well need a lot more stuff then I thought.  I will post pics off the roller as it sits tomorrow when I get some daylight.  Well back to my list.

Well here is the pics as it sits now. just trying to mock up the bars since I got it somewhat where I want the bike to sit.   Just waiting to hard tail it trying to wait for my dad to have some free time to help me weld it up and measure to make sure its true.  also just got done taking the head of the new motor and it looks like it will be a better motor for the build since it turns free and the piston rings are all their and not smoothed out like the other ones where on the first motor plus the motor numbers will match the frame.

Sorry if the pics are crappy but its hella hot and the sun is not licking me today.
