RIP Bob Bogle, lead guitarist from the Ventures
« on: June 16, 2009, 04:16:16 PM »
he apparently got ill and passed over the weekend. he'd been battling lymphoma for many years it seems. it was because of Bob and his sound that i first fell in love with mosrite guitars.

Of all God's creatures there is only one that cannot be made the slave of the lash. That one is the cat. If man could be crossed with the cat it would improve man, but it would deteriorate the cat.

Hawaii Five O was another good one they did.  Ah...the 60's Ventures.  I will have to ring them up on youtube.

Great instrumental band.
Dedicated to Sgt. Howard Bruckner 1950 - 1969. KIA LONG KHANH.

But we were boys, and boys will be boys, and so they will. To us, everything was dangerous, but what of that? Had we not been made to live forever?

That group was one of MY alltime favorites as well! Sure hate to heat about his passing! The sounds that they made (my favorites were "Walk Don't Run", & "Pipeline"! I can still hear those tunes coming out of my car radio, through the "Vibrasonic" reverberator and my speakers! 8)  Yeah, I said a reverb, might be a few who don't know what that was. ::)

Had to go with the Safari's to hear "Wipeout" done the best (IMHO).

                                  Later on, Bill ;)
