i think they all came with the same round mirrors.

but im partial to the rectangle myself.

i know there are loads of custom items out there, so ill try to make this poll as encompassing as possible.

what does the shape matter when you can't use them after 50 MPH any way.  That is unless a blurry fuzzy thing is behind me all the time. :D
These wonderful little birds are great flyers, delicious eating, excellent for training your hunting dog, and just fun to shoot,or stuff and keep around the house.  Bobwhites can be put with other types of Quail and have very large penis's.  Quail are very popular with the babes.

Any one remember the scene in Happy Days where Fonzie asks Richie which way his morrors should go?  Richie says "So you can see behind you." and the Fonz replies, "I don't care where I've been, just where I'm going.", then flips them down to look cooler...

I like seeing behind me personally, and with slick bar end mirrors you can be stylin' too.

Quail,
You must have some serious vibration probs, oh of course you have the old K8 bone shaker! :D
I can see perfectly in my mirrors at 70 mph, and I prefer round ones.

Bar end as well.  Mine are kind of a rounded, tappered rectangle?  Rectircle.  I like the fact that they look good better than rectangular ones but alow for the same periphial view.

50 mph ?

Hah!  You were lucky...  (Python thread imminent)

Doesn't matter how fast I'm going - I can only see my elbows.

Ignore Jim, he has non-standard (longer) mirrors and can see fine.

I've got rectangular bar-end ones that came with the bike.  I switched to the standard ones and drove to work; all I ever saw were my biceps.  Not being much like the Governator in the bicep department, and not wanting to share his driving skills either, I swapped back to the bar-end as soon as I got home.  I couldn't see a damn thing.  Is this normal?  I don't have stock bars, mine are only about a 1" rise or so, does this make a difference?

The lower rise bars might make a little bit of difference, but probably not much.  I switched to bar-ends originally for looks, but when I realized I could actually see behind me, that's when I knew they were keepers!

i'm seriously considering dropping 65-85 dollars for one of those aluminum billet round bar-end mirrors - has anyone bitten this bullet yet?

Here's a picture of the ones that I have.  After trying the stock ones (once!), I'm back with these.  I have to say, they work great.

I've had the bar end mirrors on my drag bars and loved 'em, now have them on clubmans, not quite sure of the look.

do they work?

When I had the clubmans on my 750 I had the bar-end mirrors on very briefly.  They just didn't work well at all with that set-up.  Too low to be useful and just kind of screwed up the whole look for me.  I like the mirrors to be placed so I can just glance at them without moving my head.  With the bar-end on the clubmans I actually had to look down to see them, too much effort involved.

GIBSON ...noone has told me why aluminum billet mirrors are bad. it's not obvious to me why they would be...  ???

Because they're too pretty?
I'm coming to the conclusion that bar-end mirrors just don't look right on clubman bars.

:D ha-ha! if there's anything pretty on my bike when i'm done with it then i've failed to make it mean enough! I guarantee any prettiness will be overshadowed by the snarling black meanness of my ride...  >:(8) ;)

Lesson learned.  I went back to the drag bars. Now the mirrors look right and I can comfortably ride all day.

If I did it right, heres sum pix of my current favorites. Not as benificial as the long arm style, but the style is worth it to me.
