Be glad it is just one, my wife brought 5 kittens home to bottle feed, we got lucky and two days later a mother cat with 3 kittens came into the shelter and Crys brought her home, she adopted the 5, so now we call her Kate with 8 :)

Hush- that reminds me of my cat Tsukiko- she and Jack had to live with Daddy after our divorce, but the funny thing was, while my ex and I were still living together, when he'd have his new girlfriend over (awkward) Tsuki would immediately pee on any clothes etc the chick left on the floor.  When the ex insisted on keeping the cats (and he had to, my new other half was allergic (and a jerk) I found out later that Tsuki habitually peed on the new girl's stuff for over a year to come.  Made me love the kitty that much more... :)  but she's now living with my ex who will never give her up, so I have two new kitties of my own.  ...and a great story to tell.
Never fall in love with someone who is allergic to or doesn't like your pets.
No kidding. The allergic ex was a freakin' train wreck. :P

i REALLY miss little kitty alot. i dont miss getting up every 2 hours to feed and de-poop her though. i'll call the lady monday and see how she's faring. i might still adopt her and just pay the fee when she's ready to be adopted out. maybe.

My thought on naming Norton is that she's a calico, so a lucky cat in Japanese culture...
I'd be tempted to name her Lady Luck or Lucy Luck... also as a part homage to biker culture in general. ;)

These are my three youngsters, born Sunday May 24. Momma is a feral I domesticated last year and spends most of her time with me. When Shadows(momma) was about a week before due I kept her inside all the time and made a bed out of a fruit box and wool blanket I cut up, nice and super soft. Garfield, Sunday, and Christa(the black one) just opened their eyes last week and are really starting to explore. I bring them out of the box a couple times a day to exercise those tiny legs and improve coordination, they are still pretty wobbly.

This is my first litter where I am responsible for everyone, had bunches when I was a kid but my mom was ultimately responsible then, lolol.

Shadows is eating almost twice her usual and drinking almost constantly. About once a day I give her a small bowl of half and half to bolster her vitamins and minerals to help the kittens.

As soon as Shadows weans she will be getting fixed and the kittens will be going to good homes around here. I live in a 26 foot trailer and there are way too many feral's around here already so letting them run around loose isn't an option.

those little guys are about a week or 10 days older than miss Norton then. he eyes were open but she wasnt really seeing much yet. funny thing is Hamish would get into the bedding box i made for her and she'd curl up with or try and nurse on him. Hamish would have made a great momcat  :) as it is he's a very confused neutered male :D i have a little apricot colored siamese thats about tame enough to come inside to live now. i was able to get her caught last year and get her spayed but theres just so damn many cats here now(the cat grapevine is working overtime telling about the premium, vet quality food i feed all the strays, along with vitamins)

What about Bucky in honour of your new found name??

Dennis

forgot about repliying to this earlier. i alrady have a bucky. i rescued him from the seminole county animal shelter in sanford florida the morning he was to be euthanized. he's a mess with a torn up ear and screwy eyes but he's really devoted to me. he even fetches like a damn dog. crumple paper up to throw in the trash and he'll fish it out every time and bring it back to you. bucky is odd.

Being that Shadows is only 8 months old she might have had them a week or so early, you could fit all 3 in the palm of your hand I just checked the Calendar and both orange tabby's opened their eyes last Monday and the black one opened on Wednesday. They haven't even started purring yet but that should start in the next couple of weeks, by the end of the month latest. Shadows was a little over a month when I captured her and her sister and domesticated them and both purred if I even looked at them once they got used to me, lolol.

I used to be such a dog person but living in this tin can I really find a cat much more reasonable and clean, lolol.

Ok Cat people what do you do for dandruff on your cat, my old cat Lady Mcbeth has developed a case of dandruff and I brush her but am not sure if I'm making it worse or not.

daily brushing helps, vet might be able to recomend a supplement for kittys food. sensitive skin food might be a good idea as well. ask the vet befre doing  anything though

brewer's yeast!  that helped one of my kitties quite a bit.  I also broke a vitamin E cap over his food sometimes.

The wife says to add a little bit of Cod liver oil to her food.  That should help with her dry skin, should also put a bit of shine into her coat as well.

Brewer's yeast is great for helping with fleas on dogs.  I'll be damned if I am giving my beer to the dog though.

our vet told me that yeast, though it used to be recomended, it no longer is. i guess it can cause some stomach problems. same thing with garlic, Garlic and onion are TOXIC to kitties.

We use Nordic Naturals Fish Oil.  It does not have a taste so you may get by putting it on their food.  It is also a mild anti-inflammatory which may be good for an old cat (arthritis).  Cod liver oil has a strong taste so you may not get by with putting it on the food.  If you use capsules it doesn't matter.  We also just picked up a brush called The Furminator.  Best cat brush I have ever used.
