fork tube length? Got the length, but what mods needed for lowering with cyclex?

I have a '77 CB750F. My bike was hit and the shop is letting me get the parts 'cause I can get them cheaper. I see that cycle exchange has the tubes with boots and seals for $115 less than the shop was going to charge me. I only need to know what length to get. I'm planning on getting progressive springs thrown in while I'm at it.
Also, Cyclexchange has a lowering kit with shorter tubes and shorter shocks for $200. Has anyone used that kit and did you have to do any modifications besides shortening the springs?

I searched before with no luck, but I think found the length. http://www.rev-um-up.com/fork-tubes-honda-kawaski.htm is showing 23 inches. Cyclexchange is showing 22 13/16.

I did the cyclex -2 tubes.  And the shorty rears shocks from somewhere else.  He did not have a kit at that time.  I lowered the bike.

I have a k and not an f so I can't answer your length question.

Call cycle exchange they should be able to hook you up with everything.   I called them on mine and they said they have the shorter springs instock for the -2 front fork tubes.

They couldn't tell me if I would have to do any other modifications. I'd hate to get the stuff and then it doesn't work. I don't have the money or the tools to be modifying my bike.

After, once again, altering my search I don't think I need to lower my bike. I'm 6'4" and I weigh about 280. I assumed that lowering a bike would somehow improve handling.

I just ordered the tubes and Progressive springs for about what the shop was charging me for the tubes+seals. It great that Cyclexchange sells the tubes, seals and boots that cheap and that the shop told me since it's my money I can get the parts where ever I wanted. :)
