Torqueing down the clutch hub nut
« on: December 09, 2017, 12:04:03 PM »
I am trying to torque down my clutch hub nut. The whole thing spins around and I can't figure out how to stop it. In his video Dino has a homemade tool to hold it against the torque wrench as he applies 36 ft/lbs to the nut. Any ideas will be appreciated. (short of duplicating the tool)

Motion Pro make a pretty cheap tool to hold those baskets but I have done them with a soft piece of pine wood strategically wedged in on 750's.  Also using an impact/rattle driver air or electric can get them both off and on but you may not know the 'exact' torque but it will be tight.

5:th gear in, front sprocket is mounted on final drive, put a piece of wood in front of it and tighten the clutch nut. The sprocket will eat the wood and stop. Tighten 45-50Nm. Went as a charm last time I did it a few weeks ago.
