Quick front brake question for a cb750.
« on: June 11, 2009, 01:43:07 PM »
I know the later model CB750's had a thicker mounting or swing bracket than earlier years. Therefore, you can't mix a 77 or 78 caliper with an earlier thinner swing bracket and vise versa but if I buy the whole assembly from a 78 will in mount on an earlier pre-77 fork.

I have an earlier model fork that I want to mount the whole assembly to.

It should fit 73-76 750 forks.

I'll hit the "buy it now" button then.

Of course, like so many, I snapped off the bleeder trying to remove it. ;D

Yeah, they should fit, don't worry about the bleeder, I don't even use them as there are many other methods of bleeding brakes. (as long as it's not leaking at that broken bleeder...)
Run a search, you'll find more methods.
Cheers.

Searched all over and the consensus is, if the bleeder is broken off you either remove it or buy a new caliper.  You can't bleed the system without a functioning bleed nipple.

Have you heard of any tricks or tips to do this with a bleeder nipple that is seized and broken off flush?

I would like to hear about them.

thanks in advance
