Anyone got a few pieces of bread for Terry's foot? Relish is always nice. LOL just kidding Terry..........
Ha ha, fair enough mate, most of the CB750 engine failures I've seen were caused by either oil pump failure or blocked oil jets in the cylinder head, or of course dropped camchains causing bent valves/pushrods etc.
As your original post hinted at a lubrication problem, I assumed it'd be a more common oil failure, than a piece of hose stuck somewhere, I've never heard of that one?
44000 miles is not unusually high for a CB750, a mate of mine bought his K2 new in 1972, and has "lapped" the odometer, without ever pulling the engine, but he is fastidious with oil and filter changes, and regular maintenance.
Sean Condon emailed me recently to say that even though his oil light is still "working", his oil pressure gauge is indicating a big drop in oil pressure, indicating that his pump is dying, so he's happy that the gauge has saved his engine on this occasion, it'd be a tragedy to destroy a fresh 836CC engine, topped with one of Mike Rieck's beautiful heads and a new Megacycle cam!
Anyway, I'm off to buy a bag of bread rolls, and some Vegemite to cover the smell.............. Cheers, Terry.
