Bearings???
«
on:
June 13, 2009, 06:57:21 PM »
I finally got the cb550 parts bike and so starts the slow rebuild. One of the first things I'm looking at doing is replacing the wheel and steering bearings.
I'm on a tight budget, so I'm looking for suggestions on the cheapest places to order bearings from.

If you like the kits that All-Balls offers, try
http://myworld.ebay.com/dead-sled-motorcycle
it's the ebay store I got all of mine from, they'll combine shipping and make it a good deal.

Allballz bearings are good, redid my cb500's stearing stem with them.
Havoc, can you get tapered bearings for stearing stems at your work, and wheel bearings for a 80 CB650C?

Checking out the link now Alan.
What year is an interesting question. The frames say 74 and 76, but the PO traded parts from other bike regardless of fit. These are probably the worst frankenbikes I have ever seen

The front bearings arent that expensive, about $10 -20 a set (Usually the all balls kits come with seals also). The all balls steering bearing kits usually run about $35-45.
The rear wheel beaings you sometimes have to get them individually as they arent always sold as a kit.
Ask this guy for prices
