Thanks Mark - appreciate all your help to have gotten here too!  ;)

The megas are made up of swarbrick headers welded to a set of fabricated megaphones. I dropped lucky in that I'd seen a small fabrication shop at Stafford show with the megas they made for G50s and Manx Nortons so kept their details hoping they'd make some for me.

When I turned up to have them done, they had a set underway modelled on a genuine kit set of pipes owned by a guy in the UK called Paul McGhie. So as luck would have it I got mine modelled on the same set of works pipes. They're pretty good I think but I suppose I was lucky to have the perfect set to model mine on!

Absolutely magnificent, and it's about time someone did a tribute to the mighty Morio Sumiya!

What discs are those on the front?

What would be your (or anybody's?) recommendation for where to buy CR replica oil and fuel tanks?

Hi Spirit, the discs are custom items made by CAT Engineering in the UK. I sent in two standard CB750 discs and they machine off the rotors and then cut 4mm cast iron discs and graft them on. The disc rotors are cut off a 295mm diameter cast iron "bar" that weighs over 50 tonnes when new! They aren't cheap but I have to say I run one of these discs on my black bomber racer and it gives awesome stopping power.

Source for tanks and oil tanks - you can get them from MeadSpeed online but they re-sell Bartell tanks with a mark-up. If you google Bartel engineering, Donaghadee in northern ireland you can get a phone/fax and deal direct for less cost. The proprietor, Asa Moyce is an ex-Honda racer and is superbly knowledgeable if you have any questions...

Last parts arrived today (well save for the custom spacer for the ignition advance cover) so it's all oil tight now and has the vent hose in place. Finally put the camchain tensioner stop bolt in and tightened it up - necessary because of the slipper blade tensioner and it's all ready to start up once she gets some juice in there....now the difficult part....

I have to rely these days on the wife to provide the foot on the paddock starter to spin my racebikes up. She's already said that she's too busy these next two weekends to "mess about with silly bikes" so I need to sweeten her up for a starting attempt and video on the 11th July! Time enough for Sam to break the world land speed record and still get home to tape his windows up then! ;D

Thanks Beans! The pipes are a one off custom job built using a set of genuine works Honda race pipes as a pattern. They are soooo open it's untrue. I think this is going to sound mad noisy when it finally does run...

The starting is not going as smoothly as I'd like the issues are in this other thread so if any of your CR750 fans have got some bright ideas, please post them up! I've never experienced ticklers before and I'm not convinced the carbs are set up just right although am hoping they're close enough to allow it to start and then I can play with jet and needle sizes.
