I replaced the chain of my cb750 and since then i got a massive oil leak which comes in my opinion from the chain oiler.
I removed the sprocked and put an o-ring in the hole of the oiler like someone mentioned on this site and then i turned the oiler like it should be to shut it off.
Nevertheless i still have a massive oil leak as soon as i rev the bike up.First 5km when i ride slowely there's nothing but when i rev it up my rear tire becomes all wet by oil. (see pic)
Does anyone know what i can do about it to shut it completely off?
There is no pressure behind the oiler, its purely a splash feed affair. So revving the bike up should not contibute much to the oiler effect. Maybe a little.
I'm suspicious that the Oring and the oiler shut off work together, I think its use one or the other. And I don't remember what's supposed to hold the bit of Oring in the hole. Is it just that the sprocket is on top of it? Centrifugal force would be working to dislodge it, but I remember reading about that trick and it sounded secure at the time, just my bad memory.
Anyway, if the oiler didn't puke on your tire before, it shouldn't be worse now. And even at full wide open I've not seen an oiler puke like that.
Is the breather from the back side of your transmission still hooked up to the oil tank? If so...
I prefer the method of running a long bolt or cut off sparkplug into the countershaft to positively block off the oiler hole. Then there can be no question what it is turned off.
