Converting k side covers for an f body
« on: March 11, 2010, 02:01:51 PM »
I have a 1978 cb750f model and I read that you could convert k model side covers to fit the f body.

My first question is: Is this actually possible?

What year side covers would I be able to use for this?

How would I go about doing this?

Thank you for your help.

I plan on posting pics of this project soon in the project shop.  Thanks again!!

not possible as far as i know. you can get new 750f side comvers from LPM plastics though.

How is the LPM website as far as customer service goes?  I would need for them to ship to the states...

I have no idea what K side covers fit, but my F had a K cover of some sort on the left side when i got it. It fit perfectly, and i had to do a double take before i noticed it was wrong.

LPM is great. I just got some for my F not too long ago.

so you have no idea what year those covers were from, or from what model?

No idea. I'll take a picture though, I'm sure someone here could identify it.

I can only guess that you're talking 750 covers, the F and K models have very different mounts.  The K covers in many opinions would not compliment the styling of the F bikes.

I would REALLY appreciate you posting pics.  Thank you for that.

More than anything I just don't want to have wires hanging or visible from the side when I go out.  The bike is very much a project, but I get a little quirky about things like that.
