78 cb550k trans noise?
« on: June 15, 2009, 09:54:13 AM »
Sorry if this is in the wrong thread.

I have a78 cb550k. When I have the bike on it's center stand and rotate the rear wheel iam hearing what sounds to be a ticking noise from the trans. If I put my hand on top of the the trans underneath the carbs I can feel it. Anyone have any ideas?  Thanks

Have you pulled off any of the covers to see if it's an external issue with the chain/sprocket?

Yes I have the cover off now and it appears to be ok I guess I should take off the chain and rotate the front sproket and see if it still does it.  The bike runs and shifts fine. Thanks for the fast replies. This site is the best. Any other tip would be greatly appreciated
