here's the ugly: after 11 hours of driving its home! frozen engine and locked rear wheel are amoung the worst...I'll look throught the archives...any suggestions on rear wheel? thanks...

Looks like a decent find actually  :)

I'd start with the wheel and figure out if maybe it's stuck in gear and the engine won't turn cause the wheel is stuck.

Chances are, the brakes are stuck on. Loosen off the brake adjuster all the way and try to wriggle the brake arm to loosen up the pads. You may end up having to take the wheel off and disassembling the brake system.

If the engine is indeed stuck, there are quite a few posts on un-sticking engines. Most of them involve putting a solution down the cylinders and letting it sit a bit.

Hey that doesn't look too bad, lots of potential there.

Rear brake could be hung up like Matt said, wheel bearings could be toast too...

Are you planning on a complete teardown anyway? 

I'd try loosening the axle nut and then adjusting the chain adjusters for maximum chain slack, then slip the chain off the rear sprocket. maybe then the wheel will turn?
otherwise you'll have to get the chain off the sprocket anyway to get that wheel off.

Take lots of pics and make lots of notes.  Buy a case of PB blaster and spray it on everything twice every day for a while before beginning any work.

yeap, it is a '72, and for $350.00 (trade value) I thought it was a good deal...Yes to tearing it down...and this is my second build, the first was a running '74 CB750...this one will have its challenges as there is more rotten areas:
The tank is good, no seat, not sure about the electrical yet, thottle assembly shot, no headlight...rats nest of wires...surface rust, wheels in OK condition...brakes need to be gone through, front caliper Okey, leaking forks...I want to free up the locked rear before I start tearing it down...as soon as I find out the engine is okey or I un freeze it I'll get it all the way to the frame, blast it and get started on the re-build...I want to go Cafe on this one, so I'll fab my seat and possibly extend the tank...Not sure about that yet...I do have a second tank...
