Not sure... I could take an extra bucket and hole saw for the speedo... If memory serves correct...there wasn't much room behind the lamp (with all the wiring stuffed in there).  I wonder how he got around that issue with his bucket?

If you look closely at his bucket, it's elongated to accommodate the body of the speedo. That's why you need the replacement headlamp ears that he supplies.

All in all, good value.

Looking great man! My project has stalled due to unemployment. You would think it would provide MORE time, but in reality provides less.

I would think you could make a hole in the top of your headlight bucket, put the speedo in there as far as it will go, and bondo/fiberglass a cowl up to the rim to make it somewhat seemless, then attach some mounting points inside the speedo housing to match up with the original mounts on the speedo, perhaps? Paint to match and hopefully it looks cool.

Supp' PAPP!   sorry to hear about your situation... kinda scrounging for stuff to do as well...

The project's kinda been on hold waiting for my drilled rotorsend back from Anubis...  It's in the mail..just stuck somewhere between WI and WA.

I drilled the holes big enought (top and bottom) for the speedo... but I didn't check the direction of the headlight.  the speedo cable is straight..but my aim is about 2 feet infront of the wheel.  I have a spare that I'll use...( I should have used that for the test).

I'm gonna redrill untill i get the right...then measure off and drill the spare..  I'm contemplating bondo or rubber grommets...

Kinda sucks waiting for a part....  the whole project looses wind...   Lately, I've been playing with mod's for my KLR650..

ok....another dumb couple of questions.... but I'm stumped...

#1  I'm confused... how do I get the clip out?  where the heck is it? I've moved back the boot but can't seem to find it...

I have reviewed the exploded view....but can't seem to find...#3...

#2
when I put this pad in...it seemed to wobble...

does this need to be ground down?

#3
does this look correct? I'm guessing this little while spacer goes here???

This is what I've found on this site and will soon be trying.
Place the engine on the ground laying on it's side.
While standing over the engine, position the frame and lower, taking care not to bump the freshly painted frame.
Once in position fasten in place and right frame. Install suspension and go ride.

Bike looks good. Keep it up.

I know this is probably old hat to most.... but has anyone ran into the problem of the rubber "cap" curling over when you try to put the whole assembly back into the MC?  Should it be sprayed with lubricant?

it almost seems like the "cap" should be the other way around.... but I think I had it right, according to the manual.

man what i would do is tap the races in with a dead blow hammer but dont hit one side a couple times then the other side a couple times to compensate just tap from one side to ther other and  make sure you dont damage the inner cup that the race sits on
