I've found the ignore button to be quite easy to ignore.

I can't help myself. I need an ignore button for the ignore button.

I don't know if that in itself is sufficient scientific research to reassure Sam that "Old-timers" hasn't set in, it still doesn't address why he can't pass a rest room nowadays, or why everything nowadays is too loud, but still asks folks to "speak up", or why his trousers are belted just under his chest, or why he thinks that Vera Lynn was Britain's  last great female singer, not to mention the multitude of yellow stains recently making an appearance in his "Y fronts"................  ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Upperlake, I have always enjoyed your posts and I thank you for the messages you have sent me over these last years.

I have deleted my accounts in several forums for different reasons, but everytime I've done that, I have never returned to that forum. I guess you won't be back either.

If you read this, send me an email to rgbovedaAThotmailDOTcom, I would like to keep in touch with you.

All the best!

I wonder if upperlake will even see this.  Too bad if he does not know how much he will be missed.  I hope he knows you do not have to own a bike to be here and contribute.  Well, our loss... :'(

I didn't get chance to try to change his mind Billy, he closed his account before I could PM him.

I'll do it the old fashioned way with a letter through the post.

Sam. ;)

The old fashioned way is to show up on his porch with a big stick.

He has an artistic temperment. Probably the weather is driving him crazy.
Personally, all this constant rain is making me homicidal- and everyone knows how full of love I am!

Sam. :(

Thanks for doing that Sam, he sent me some photos of some small carvings that he'd done, quite a while back and I've still got them. Quite impressive (can't get to them presently because my email's all messed up. :(

Quite depressing when some of the respected old timers pull out.

My stars and garters- this is an old thread. !
Somehow, I got a message from Upperlake saying he has read this "obituary" and it made him sad.

Mr Dave, on one hand you say you don't understand this internet communication thing, but on the other you say you shall miss the friends (not an exact quote there...).  Well, that's what the internet is about;  the magic of talking to people who become friends though the either in far off places like England, Auustralia, Canada, Korea- whereever.  No- it's not like we had lunch after church most Sundays.  So what?

Bub- you sure seem depressed as hell to me.  I, for one, don't care if you have a bike or not.  I just like talking to people who know the difference between your and you're, mute and moot, etc.   I'm assuming you're going to read this, so here's my e-mail addy;  cursethedarkness@charter.net    If you ever want to get anything off your chest, send me a line.

Things have changed some here personnel-wise.  I'm constantly thinking "who is THAT guy and where did he come from?!"  Oh well.  I miss Raul's posts, but it's good to see he still reads things some.  I've decided to become more modest and dicreet, myself- mostly because I don't know as much as I thought I did.
As far as age goes;  Every morning- first crack of light- I take a piss like a race horse on a flat rock.  Then, waves of relief mixed with pure joy moves through my whole body as I take a firm, healthy dump.
I sorta wish I could get out of bed before noon, though...

As far as riding goes;  Age and treachery will beat youth and alleged skill every time.  Run what ya brung.
(here's a shout out to John Baker- one of my heroes)

Andy, the old Canadian miscreant has been keeping in touch with me. In between his
playing with pebbles and what not. I too, would like to make the trip to Saskatoon some day soon.
But that some day won't be this summer, the house project is nearing completion but not before the
Saskatchewan snow flies I am afraid. Anyway, we may have to team up for the
adventure. One Scotsman and one Southerner of Scottish descent should be able to handle the
whole kit and kabootle of Canadian miscreants.  ;)

BTW, Dave tells me he has already finished off my
share of the beer.
