Dunstall body questions/ i.d.
« on: June 18, 2009, 10:18:19 AM »
Found some dunstall bodies on craigslist, and had a couple of questions; the black one is like others that I've seen here, they just slip on, and don't actually have a gas tank correct? Also, any thoughts on what the white one might be, and any pics of one on a bike if it is in fact for a cb750?

From what I have gathered.........Dunstall made several variations of tanks, seat/tail sections, and quarter fairings for CB750s and numerous other makes and models.  One common part seems to be the gas-cap.

Old Scrambler, Thats a Dicks Racers supply body, not a Dunstall. Most Dunstall gas tanks (not covers like the black set Zoo pictured) are peiced together very nicely on the bottom and have "Dunstall" cast in the top of them. The Dicks tank is glued together with gobs of grey/green stuff on the bottom. They both share the same gas cap.

Zoo, The black body looks to be for a CB 750 K (Due to the oil tank cap opening) and they usually slip over the gas tank.

Click on "machines"  and it shows  most (not all ) of the stuff they had available.

Thanks for the info.......you are correct about the gobs of stuff on the bottom.  I am trimming a lot of extra glass and lining for modern fuel.  Right now its a project waiting to happen........

Any ideas on the white fairing?

It's hard to say from the 1 picture posted.

It looks simular to the Dunstall AJSM2 or Vesco stuff pictured, but neither have the recesses for the turn signals. That style of recesses for the turns is usually a Rickman thing (that I have found). Rickmans usually have a small recess above the headlight for the small "Rickman" decal.
