anyone with a good running cb550 in denver?
« on: June 18, 2009, 05:06:19 PM »
ive been playing around with my jetting since my rebuild and 650cam swap and ive had no results.  the bike just seems slow to me or maybe im trying to expect too much from this bike. granted,  it is more powerful since the rebuild and mods since.  ive never ridden another 550 and have no comparison. anyone with a stock or even modified well running cb550 in denver wanna good ol fashioned dragrace or know of a cheap dyno here?

ah hell gordon! it was great!-how well was it tuned though? your awesome cb750 seemed to be the one that gets the attention. ;) hey cb650, wanna get together the 27th or 28th? maybe we can get gordon out on his 750 and see what the differences are in 25cc per cylinder. :P

Maybe he can race Al on his new 550 up to 45  ;)  Sorry Al, I couldn't resist myself.
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

Tuned pretty well, actually.  The only issue is it was never rejetted for altitude, but that just causes the plugs to get a little sooty.  I've spent a decent amount of time on a friend's pristine '74 550, and mine and hers run pretty much the same.
