IT LIVES!
« on: September 30, 2011, 10:21:49 PM »
After 20 years of hybernation my dad and I got his CB650 running. It won't Idle without full choke, but we dident have and Airfilter on it and he could tell it was leaning out. He thinks a bit of crap might still be in the Idle circuts so hopefully it will clear out, takeing those carbs out and apart is a PITA. I was worried we had a dead Cyl ( lower compression) but it sounds good, no miss or odd sound.

No video, mabey tommrow.

Sounds great, alot louder than I expected. Has a Nice thump at idle. Doesnt sound like a sportbike which I like.

the 650 has cv carbs on it you will want to soak them to get the circuits back and make sure the jets are all clean I usually run a bunch of sea foam for two or three tanks of gas when I get anything with cv carbs on it out of storage
when you own a motorcycle the wife does not have to find you handy she just has to find you

It's got Normal Keihin carbs.  I pulled the carbs apart and cleaned every passage and jet with carb cleaner, so hopefully if theres anything left it will disolve.
