AHRMA at Road America
« on: June 14, 2009, 06:47:27 PM »
Two days of great racing and sunny skies.  On Saturday the Rickman Honda 750 took a 1st and a 2nd in different classes riden by Jeff Peters from Niagara Falls, Ontario.  On Sunday his clutch went out on the second or third lap of the first race.  In the 'stock' frame and motor class Bob Burns from Chicago took both days.  He has a very sweet motor tuned to perfection.  Bob weighs in at something around 300 pounds so his bike really hauls a....................s!  Photo of Bob at speed is attached.

Jeff Peters is a good rider and that's a sweet Rickman too. He did well at Mosport last August and that bike handled like it was on rails.  Did you notice the top engine mount they fabbed up on that bike?

No, I quess that is a oil catch device due to regulations. It has to catch, most, oil in case of damage or blow-up.

Better sorry for failing then for the lack of trying.

Yes, the Rickman has a top motor mount that must work very well.  I was all over the bike with wife's camera and am waiting for her to upload the pics.  Gracious crew that shared beers.  I'll see them again at Mid-Ohio.

Big Bob (member here) has a shallow baking pan attached to the bottom of his bike.....pic attached

Great pics..and captions........I'll leave mine in the trash.

The highlight of Sunday was watching, listening, siting on the very edge of the home straight, and then greeting Wesley and Robert Goodpastor after their 1-2 finish with their amazing 500cc Norton Manx machines.  It was well worth the price of admission.......and a whole lot cheaper than going to the Isle of Mann.
