Brake Rotor Drilling
« on: June 19, 2009, 05:12:19 AM »
I have a 78 F3 and just got a set of used rotors and would like to have them drilled and resurfaced. I have looked thru the forum and found a few sources for doing this work I don't have the tools to do it myself. I know that this has been brought up many times but could some one give me some leads on a good source on doing this kind of work.

Thanks in advance

I used to deal with a machinist in Chicago "Mares Cycle" but he retired. He drilled at least 6 rotors for me for different projects. Sigh.

This gentleman is in the Forums "Services Offered" section. Worth an email maybe.

I have no personal experience with him.

Just on a whim I googled Mare's Cycle and this came up http://www.motorcycletuneup.com/

I emailed him to see if he is the same guy. Seems to be, sort of a loner eccentric. may have come out of retirement.

Doesn't say drilling rotors on the site, so I asked him, in the email. Don't expect a quick response.

Still there are several places/ people on the forum that have or still are drilling rotors.

Use speedracer. His name is Chris Schuman and his email is speedracer741_@hotmail.com.  He is the best I know of.  Just remember, motorcycle rotors CANNOT be turned like car rotors.  The have to be blanchard gind.  Here is a link for Chris' work.
