inlet manifolds

I notice that with my spare inlet manifolds,some have take offs for the carb balancers and some dont.As these are spares only and
the ones without are slightly longer,I,m assuming they,ll be for different models?I.d like to know so I can tag them for future use.

Yep.  For instance on my 75 the test ports are on the manifold while on the 78 they are on the carb throats and not on the manifold.  I might have that reversed....Anyway if you can match carbs to each set you could find out that way.

I found this out when I suffered pain in the arse leaky carb syndrome.I ride a 550 chop and found that when changing over
another bank of carbs I had to swap manifolds (with take offs) to use the balancers.The carbs would,nt fit now cos of the
lenght (lenth?) of said manifold.AHHH! The deep joy of motorsickles.
