True enough, I would be scared silly to take something like that out on the road.  :-[

It sure is shiney...............but............wrong tank trim..........wrong carbs..........wrong front fender..........has lift handle..........and it seems to me the front winker stalks are a smidge too long and the mirrors are too tall.  The seat looks like it has more than 20,000 miles on the cushion by a 200+lb rider.

Now, its still a great looking bike and I sure wouldn't through it out of my garage!

R/H switch is wrong, MC wrong finish, etc. But I too would still not mind having it in my garage.  ;)

The seat might have been cut down for a shorter rider.

No tire sticker on back fender and incorrect speedo face.  The speedo thing has me wondering why they put that one on when they sell the OEM speedo face for that bike?  I don't think they are selling this as a complete replica so I would not complain.  Still a very nice lookng bike and a lot cheaper than Vic's.  Plus, Yamiya is good people... ;D  Still amazes me how I get stuff from them in Japan faster than I get it from the USA?

No idea on the red light..... I agree on the dial faces....should have kept them stock.... converted it to $20,881.00 which is not bad. Wonder if it is a sandcast or not. Bet it is just a K0.

I agree it is a Ko.....the front fender would be correct for a later #...agree on the carbs and tank stripe....all the Japanese had the red light and those speedo faces....I think....non recessed ignition.....chain guard is later longer type.....sidestand is kinda funky too........they cut the seats down over there cause they are vertically challenged  ;D

Nice bike tho....but kinda spensive

Steve
Ah, I think you are right Swoop...they really cut that seat down probably to serve that population.  I had not thought about that.  I was wondering why the seat looked so bad as I have one of their duckbill seats and it looks so much better than the one in the picture.  Now you answered it for me...

If you look at the rest of the bikes on the site it appears they will build it any way you like.  Somehow these guys seem to to access to really cool parts. Seems odd to have 69 side covers on a 76 though.

Warning indicator light that comes on when you go over the speed limit  :D

Having been to Yamiyas shop and seeing these guys work and put the bikes together its really impressive. Tiny shop at the top of some stairs - the "showroom" is under the stairs. They are very meticulous and really know their bikes. Everything here is referred to as a K (no K0, K1, K2 etc designations -that was for the American/Euro market). You still see them being ridden around Nagoya (where Yamiya is located). The sound great!

cheers
Andy

I thought I'd ask the Yamiya folks for a shipping quote to California to see if it was affordable. Here's their quote. Enjoy!

It's a warning light - lights up  permanently when they cash the cheque you used to pay for the bike to remind you you'll be forever in debt  ;D
