New FAQ - Oil Filters
« on: November 12, 2005, 08:21:45 AM »
I need photos of the oil filters you have bought plus info as to whether they supplied the 0-rings.

I've started with my recent purchase of "buy 5 for £10" filters from David Silver.
Made in Japan but no o-rings.

I've also posted info on the 17mm oil filter bolt (£8.50 DSS)

I look forward to receiving your info (photos < 100k please as no need for 5 megapix)

I get the current production Honda oil filter kit from my local dealer. They keep them in stock so I can buy it along with the oil in one trip, plus I don't have to wait for shipping! It's around $8.00 and comes with the filter, filter housing O-ring and filter bolt O-ring. Next time I buy one I'll post the part #. I'll get a pic, too.

   I have a 750 K4.

I do buy Honda's oil filter, which comes packaged complete with bolt O ring and the large O ring for sealing against the engine body.  My local Honda dealer always has them in stock.

The Honda part number is 15410-426-010.

I am in Arizona and the cost here is $8.00.

Here is the photos of the Fram CH6009 from Walmart. I'm going to give it a try on my 1975 CB550. I'll let you know how I make out with it.

I only change o ring every other oil change.   There was a batch of frams several years ago that the inner rubber seal was to small and wouldnt go over the bolt.
