I put a new headlight in my bike and now it wont keep the battery charge if i take the fuse out for the headlight it will charge the battery fine anyone know the law about headlight can i just put it on a on and off switch to trun it off in the day time or try and fixs what the problem is but i have no cute help thanks springer

What headlight did you put in?  These charging systems are close to being completely taxed from the factory.   If you added a higher amp-pulling headlight you're taking juice that would otherwise be used to charge the battery and using it to run the headlight.  If it's the bike in your avatar that you're talking about, looks like you've already got some extra lights on there with the tour bags. 
Might invest in some LED replacements for all of the brake and running lights to reduce the pull on the electrical system.  Also, make sure all of your connections are clean especially the ones from the stator, regulator, and rectifier.

ok clean all plugs conect wires and now it's worst full charge battery meter says 12.5 volts 3k to 4 k rev it will drop if i ride the battery holds up for about 3 or 4 hours then i start losing power the longer i ride need, help what should i fix's frist how do i find out whats wrong i have a bike shop not to far from me but if it a bad wire they will charge me and say it was a alt. or some thing hi price i do not trust them thanks

a 550 headlight stock is 40/50 i use a 35/60 the volts 12.3 all the time with on headlight in the bike dosn't matter

 i just need to know what part to change frist alternator or rectifier or voltage regulator ?
